Program firsts and 4-goal outings: Who is the H.S. Athlete of the Week for Feb. 19-25?
TAUNTON— The 2023-24 winter high school sports regular season has come to a close in the Greater Taunton area.
Last week, most local teams saw their seasons come to a close, with Bridgewater-Raynham hockey and Mansfield/Oliver Ames/Foxboro/Taunton going out in style with wins, while Taunton, Bridgewater-Raynham and Bristol-Plymouth all had wrestlers finish as runners up at All States.
The Taunton Daily Gazette Athlete of the Week for Feb. 12-18 is Bristol-Plymouth wrestling's Brooke Weafer, receiving 32% while Bridgewater-Raynham girls indoor track's Sydney O'Donnell finished second with 25% and Bristol-Plymouth boys basketball's Zach Branco received 21% to finish third.

Gomes had a goal against Diman/Durfee/Westport.
Bobby Quill, Bridgewater-Raynham
Quill had a pair of goals and an assist against West Bridgewater/East Bridgewater.
Adam Bastis, Dighton-Rehoboth
Bastis had four goals against Stoughton/Brockton.
Girls Hockey
Cammy Shanteler, Mansfield/Oliver Ames/Foxboro/Taunton
Shanteler had a goal and an assist against Dennis-Yarmouth/Cape Cod Academy/St. John Paul II.
Riley Bain, West Bridgewater/East Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raynham/Bristol-Plymouth/Southeastern/Middleboro
Bain had a goal against Hanover.
Gymnastics
Lindsay Woodbury, Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater
Woodbury had an all-around of 35.925, including a 9.225 on the floor, a 9.05 on the vault, an 8.85 on the bars and an 8.8 on the beam, at the MIAA South Sectionals.
Boys Indoor Track
Dmitrius Shearrion, Taunton
Shearrion finished 11th in the 300 meter with a time of 0:35.82 at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
Kauan Bento, Bridgewater-Raynham
Bento finished eighth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 0:06.59 at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
Girls Indoor Track
Sydney O'Donnell, Bridgewater-Raynham
O'Donnell finished 15th in the 1,000 meter with a time of 3:09.39 at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
Boys Wrestling
Ethan Harris, Taunton
Harris finished runner up in the 190 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
Brent von Magnus, Bridgewater-Raynham
von Magnus finished runner up in the 132 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
Jacob Bettencourt, Bristol-Plymouth
Bettencourt finished third in the 144 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
Luis Garcia, Bristol Aggie/Dighton-Rehoboth
Garcia finished third in the 113 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
Girls Wrestling
Olivia Polansky, Bridgewater-Raynham
Polansky finished runner up in the 107 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
Brooke Weafer, Bristol-Plymouth
Weafer finished runner up in the 114 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
Hannah Dyckman, Bristol Aggie/Dighton-Rehoboth
Dyckman finished sixth in the 120 lb. weight class at the MIAA All States tournament.
