Potential 2018 No. 1 draft pick Luka Doncic is almost too good to be true (Video)

The legend of Luka Doncic, which was already larger than life, somehow grew on Thursday night.

The Slovenian 18-year-old, known to many in Europe simply as “Wonder Boy,” collected 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a 26-minute stretch off the bench that you might call workmanlike if it weren’t so damn amazing. Among the highlights were a full-court shot and an ankle-breaking assist that could begin and end anyone’s career reel, and yet we’re still seven months from his NBA Draft.

Let’s now go live to every NBA general manager with a lottery pick right now:

That, my friends, is the face of pure basketball joy, and it’s coming to an NBA team near you soon.

Sure, you can chalk the full-court heave up to sheer luck and not the work of Wonder Boy, a real-life superhero just beginning to realize the extent of his powers, but then how do you explain this sorcery:

Good lord, Luka.

That isn’t some chump Doncic just put on skates, either. That’s Victor Claver, a former first-round pick by the Portland Trail Blazers who has won three EuroBasket titles and two Olympic medals with the Spanish national team. He’s 29 years old, and Doncic made him look like a 43-year-old high school science teacher in a student vs. staff game. It’s almost not fair to have this much polish this early.

We’ve seen him cook like this before. He put a former WAC Player of the Year in a blender in October:

A week later, he was throwing behind-the-back passes through two defenders in transition …

… and casually dribbling between a defender’s legs on his way through a backcourt trap:

If he isn’t the No. 1 pick this coming June, then you better be damn sure the guy you’re taking ahead of him is a sure thing, because chances are Doncic will make whoever you draft look silly at some point.
