Portage high school scores | Dec. 15: Crestwood girls hoops rallies from 20-point deficit

Down 20 after a quarter, Crestwood rallied for a 39-38 victory over Kirtland in a Chagrin Valley Conference girls basketball game Friday.

Hannah Ward (14 points) and Livia Martini (12) both finished in double figures for the Red Devils.

Kristiana Katic led the Hornets with 14 points.

Tallmadge 57, Roosevelt 31

Sydney Becks scored 23 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Blue Devils to a Suburban American victory.

Zariyah Taylor led the Rough Riders with 11 points while Arie Wilson added three 3-pointers.

Up 17-10 after eight minutes, Tallmadge held Roosevelt to single digits in each of the last three quarters.

Boys Basketball

Roosevelt 48, Tallmadge 41

The Rough Riders dominated the fourth quarter, 11-2, to take control after the Blue Devils held a two-point lead after 24 minutes.

Jeremiah Lepp drained four 3-pointers and scored 12 points to lead Roosevelt, while Jaden Dennison added nine points and Grant Leslie had eight.

Paul Rusinko led Tallmadge with 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

St. Thomas Aquinas 46, Rootstown 42

Down 15-2 after a quarter, the Knights rallied for a Portage Trail Conference win over the Rovers. Aquinas' Bronson Gilyard led the way with 22 points, 12 in the fourth quarter.

Cameron Mahone led Rootstown with 16 points, while Blake Mullaly knocked down three 3-pointers to finish with 12.

LaBrae 72, Garfield 53

The Vikings clinched victory over the G-Men with a 22-10 fourth quarter in Friday's Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Tier contest.

Derek Wilson (19 points), David Blackmon (13) and Austin Rowe (12) all finished in double figures, combining to make 11 of 12 from the line.

Garfield fell despite a 28-point performance from Preston Gedeon, including six 3-pointers.
