There were some stellar performances in basketball, swimming, track & field and wrestling last week. Which of these standout athletes will get your vote for the Courier/Intell Boys Athlete of the Week?

This week's poll will run from Tuesday evening until 8 p.m. Thursday.

William Tennent basketball player Kirby Mooney won the first poll of 2023 with 32 percent of the vote.

  • Aidan Faikish, North Penn: At the New Year’s Challenge at Bucknell University, Faikish finished second in the 100 breaststroke (58.39), and second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.09. In a meet against Pennridge, Faikish won the 100 fly (54.14), and was a part of the 200 medley relay that set a pool record with a time of 1.37.59.

  • Collin Gaj, Quakertown: At the Parkland Duals, the sophomore was undefeated on the day, with all five of Gaj’s wins at 145 pounds by fall, including four pins in under one minute (35 seconds, 39, 39 and 55 seconds).

  • Conor McFadden, Central Bucks West: The Bucks’ junior took first place in the boys 60-meter dash, with a time of 6.97 at the TFCAGP meet at Lehigh. McFadden’s time of 6.95 in the prelims set a school record in the event.

  • Jake Cummiskey, Central Bucks East: In the final 27 seconds of play and the Patriots trailing, Cummiskey hit four free throws to give CB East a 60-57 vitctory over Bensalem. He finished with a team-high 17 points.

  • James Blair, Souderton: The senior sank nine 3-pointers, on his way to a game-high 31 points, in Souderton's win over Truman.
