Playoff Heroes: These soccer & field hockey stars had key performances in the postseason

Mimi Duffy, CB West: Duffy netted the lone goal of the game to give the Bucks a win over familiar foe CB East in a 1-0 win in the second round. She also had one of the Bucks’ two goals in their quarterfinal win.

Dani Burns, Faith Christian: She had three goals in the Lions first-round District One 1A playoff win, and had one goal in the second round to lead Faith to a 2-1 victory. The Lions, in just their second season of existence, will play for the District One 1A title on Monday.

Morgan Shaltens, Neshaminy: The four-year starter concluded an impressive high school career with a strong showing in Neshaminy’s 3-2 loss to Spring-Ford in the first round of the District One 3A playoffs. The center back keyed a solid defensive effort against an aggressive Spring-Ford attack.

Emma Kraft, CB South: The Titans’ goalie recorded eight saves against a formidable Kennett offense, giving up just two goals in a double overtime loss in the first round of the district playoffs.

Tatum Andrews, Souderton: The junior not only scored the Indians’ first goal of their first-round playoff game, but she also recorded the game-winner in double overtime for the thrilling 2-1 victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh.

Sunny Draper, Quakertown: The freshman had an impressive playoff debut, scoring two goals in the Panthers’ 6-0 win over CR North in the first round of districts.

Audra Szymborski, CB East: Szymborski recorded seven saves in a standout outing in front of the cage for the Patriots in a 2-1 first-round win over Garnet Valley.

Kendra Pitts, CB West: The sophomore goalie made an incredible save on a corner shot in the final seconds of the Bucks’ quarterfinal game to secure a 2-1 win over Downingtown East. Pitts had 12 saves after issuing a shutout in the Bucks’ 1-0 victory over CB East in the second round.

Ella Dougherty, CB West: Dougherty scored one of Bucks’ two goals in their 2-1 win over Downingtown East in the district quarterfinals.

Regan Kelso, Archbishop Wood: The first-year Viking came up huge in her first PCL championship game. The junior scored both goals in the Vikings’ 2-0 win over Nazareth Academy, securing the third straight title for Wood. She also scored a goal in their semifinal win over St. Hubert’s.

Becca Morein, Villa Joseph Marie: Morein posted a hat trick, scoring three times including once on a penalty kick, to lead the offense in the Jems’ 6-0 win over Upper Moreland in the Class 3A quarterfinals.

Gracie Costello, Upper Moreland: The goalie earned a shutout to secure the Golden Bear’s 1-0 victory over Marple Newtown in the first round of the District One playoffs.

Nina Meixler, New Hope Solebury: Meixler scored two second-half goals as the Lions topped No. 1 MaST Charter to claim the District One Class A title.

Reegan Moran, CB West: Moran delivered two goals to lead the Bucks to a 3-0 win over Boyertown in the first round of the district playoffs.

Maddy Murphy, North Penn: The junior scored the game-winning goal in the second half to give the No. 26 Knights a huge upset of No. 7 WC Henderson in a 2-1 victory in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Sam Ridler, North Penn: The senior goalie had an impressive showing for the 26th-seeded Knights in the first two rounds. She made several impressive saves in the Knights 2-1 upset of No. 7 WC Henderson, and held 10th-seeded Hatboro-Horsham to two goals in the Knights’ second-round loss.

Alyssa Tooley, Hatboro-Horsham: With the game coming down to penalty kicks, the goalie made two saves to secure the win (2-2, 4-2 PK) for the Hatters against CB South in the first round of district playoffs. Tooley made several acrobatic saves during regulation and through two scoreless overtimes.

Emma Levin, Hatboro-Horsham: Levin scored the game-winner in the second half to send the Hatters to the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win over North Penn. Levin then scored one of the Hatters’ two goals in their second-round win over CB South (2-2, 4-2 PK).

Jessie Bernabe, CB East: The junior scored three goals in three games for CB East in the district playoffs.

Mia Cairone, CR North: The junior Penn State commit scored the lone goal against No. 4 Spring-Ford, giving the No. 20 Indians an early lead and nearly pulling off the upset before being edged 2-1 in the second round. She also had a goal in their 3-1 first-round win.

Seretha Demoss, Pennridge: The sophomore goalie recorded shutouts in both of the Rams’ playoffs games. She had three saves in a 4-0 win against Hatboro-Horsham, and she turned away 11 shots on goal in a victory over CB West.

Juliette Salvi, CR South: Salvin scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Downingtown West in the first round of district playoffs, while also leading the defense in a shutout. In the quarterfinals, she assisted on Teagan Shay’s game-winning goal in double overtime.

Cam Blatz, CR South: Trailing 2-0 in the district quarterfinals, Blatz scored twice in two minutes to tie the game and force OT. The Golden Hawks eventually won 3-2 over No. 4 Spring-Ford.

Teagan Shay, CR South: The sophomore helped the Golden Hawks do the improbable in their district playoff games. In the second round, Shay netted the game-winning goal in double overtime to give the No. 20 Golden Hawks the win over No. 5 Garnet Valley. In the quarterfinals, Shay again scored the game-winner, again in double OT, in a huge upset of No. 4 Spring-Ford.

Liam Connaghan, La Salle: Connaghan scored the game-winning goal in overtime of the PCL semifinals, giving the Explorers a 2-1 victory over Archbishop Ryan.

Sam Zieger, La Salle: The junior scored the go-ahead goal in the second half of the PCL championship game, completing the Explorers comeback attempt in a 3-2 win over Father Judge. Zieger also scored the Explorers’ lone goal in regulation of their 2-1 OT victory against Archbishop Ryan in the semifinals.

Joey Roth, CB East: Roth scored twice to lead the Patriots to a 3-0 win over Souderton in the first round of the District One playoffs.

Anthony Bice, CB South: Bice registered the game-winner in double overtime for the Titans in a 2-1 comeback victory over Strath Haven in the first round of district playoffs.

Nate MacLeod, CB South: McLeod delivered a late goal to give the Titans an upset win over the No. 3 WC Henderson. MacLeod scored with six minutes left in regulation for the thrilling second-round victory.

Logan Adams, CR North: The junior tallied two goals to lead the Indians to a 3-0 first-round win over Unionville and contributed a goal in their second-round win against CB East (1-1, 5-4 PKs).

Calvin Hopkins, CR North: The Indians’ goalie turned away both shots sent his way and secured the shutout in a win over Unionville in the first round of districts. In their second-round game, Hopkins made a stop on a penalty kick that gave the Indians the win over CB East.

Braden Delgado, Abington: The senior has been an offensive force in the Class 4A playoffs. Delgado scored a goal in all three playoff games, and his second-half goal in the quarterfinals broke a scoreless tie to give the Ghosts a 1-0 win over CB South.

Oscar Hoffman, Abington: Hoffman scored the go-ahead goal to give Abington a 2-1 win over Harriton in the second round of the district playoffs.

Ari Pollack, CR North: Pollack has had many big moments for CR North over the years, but probably none bigger than his game-winning penalty kick on Thursday night. When the second-round game came down to PKs after double overtime and with CB East missing its last kick, Pollack’s goal won the game (5-4 PKs).

Mason DiEnna, Holy Ghost Prep: The sophomore scored the go-ahead goal in the Firebirds’ 3-2 win over Upper Perkiomen in the Class 3A quarterfinals.
