Congratulations to last week's athlete of the week winner: Kaylee Goodpaster of North Bay Haven.

This past week we saw two Bay County teams advance deep into the state playoffs and a couple of gold medalists in track regional meets. There were many standout performances and the athletes listed were determined by a culmination of coaches nominations and researched game performances.

We hope to continue doing these polls and appreciate each reader and fan who participates in them. Make sure to share the poll with your friends, family and teammates on social media.

Athlete of the Week Nominations

Margaret Bartlow, North Bay Haven

The junior won two golds in the 1600 meters (5:04.08) and 3200m (10:45.68).

Shakirah Edwards, Rutherford

Edwards is the girl's high jump region champion (5'1.75").

Madison Taylor, Bozeman

Taylor is the Class 2A Region 1 champion in the girl's javelin throw (110'4").

Cooper Moss, Arnold

Moss hit a two-run homer that gave the Marlins a 4-3 victory over Santa Fe. Moss also hit another homer in the 5-0 victory over Wakulla.

Gabrielle Killets, North Bay Haven

The sophomore won silver in the girl's javelin throw (104'6").

Lilly Cobb, Arnold

Cobb is the Class 3A Region 1 javelin throw champion (120'11").

Peyton Gay, Bozeman

The senior took home silver in the boy's javelin throw (186'10").

Shaniyah Carlos, Mosley

Carlos won bronze in the 100m (12.50) and silver in the 200m race (25.51).

Trey Power, Bozeman

Power threw a near no-hitter only allowing one hit and eclipsed 100 strikeouts this season in a 3-0 playoff victory over Chipley.

Brooks Skipper, Bozeman

Skipper's triple in the bottom of the eighth inning proved vital as he also scored the run winning in the Bucks Class 1A Region 2 championship.

Eli Blair, Arnold

In two playoff victories, Blair pitched nine innings totaling 11 strikeouts and eight hits.

Zac Flitcraft, Bozeman

Flitcraft pitched seven innings allowing four hits and one run scored. Flitcraft also hit a double in the 2-1 victory over Port St. Joe.
