Late pins carry Huron, Gibraltar Carlson to wrestling victories

MILAN – Colton Marentette’s pin helped New Boston Huron wrap up a 39-34 win over Airport Wednesday in a key Huron League wrestling match.

Freshman Aidan Jewell bumped up two weight classes and delivered a key win in his varsity debut.

“Jewell stepped up to the challenge,” Huron coach Logan Ritchie said. “He’s a second-year wrestler that loves the sport and works his tail off.

“Marentette is a veteran of the sport that is seeing the process through and is getting better every day. He was the hero we needed today and he deserved that moment.”
