Phoenix Suns injury update: Bradley Beal (nose) in, Jusuf Nurkic (thumb) out

ORLANDO – Bradley Beal will play in Sunday’s game at Orlando with a nasal fracture while Jusuf Nurkic is ruled out with a sprained left thumb.

Both injuries were suffered in the second half of Friday’s loss at the Indiana Pacers. Beal took an elbow from a driving Myles Turner in the third quarter.

After bleeding profusely from the elbow and leaving the game with 8:09 left in the third, Beal returned with 10:32 left in the game and played the remainder of it. Beal hasn’t had any procedure done as of Sunday afternoon, but has undergone a series of tests and scans.

He’ll be wearing a mask on Sunday, but it’s not custom-fitted. He’ll be fitted for a custom one later.

Beal suffered a broken nose and concussion while playing for the Washington Wizards Jan. 2016 when he collided with Marcus Smart, who was with the Boston Celtics.

Nurkic said he jammed his thumb twice in Friday’s loss as he didn’t play in the fourth quarter after checking out with 3:44 left in the third.

Suns coach Frank Vogel said Nurkic may play Monday in the second of back-to-back games at Miami if the pain reduces and swelling goes down. Nurkic has his thumb taped as he did some pregame work.

Bol Bol (right foot sprain) and Damion Lee (knee) are out as Lee didn’t make the seven-game road trip and hasn’t played all season. The Suns are hopeful Bol can return during the trip as he’ll miss his eighth straight game Sunday with the foot injury.

Vogel said Bol is still experiencing pain on certain cuts and movements. Bol and Nurkic were both doing pregame work together at Kia Center.
