Phoenix Suns coach odds: Nick Nurse, Kevin Young, Doc Rivers or Jordi Fernandez?
Who will be the next coach of the Phoenix Suns?
New odds for who could replace Monty Williams as the coach of Phoenix's NBA team have been released and former Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse is the favorite.
SportsLine.com has Nurse at even odds to become the Suns' next coach. Insiders Betting Digest has Nurse at +200.
Suns associate coach Kevin Young comes in at +200 to take over as Phoenix's head coach in SportsLine's odds. He's at +300 according to Insiders Betting Digest.
Of Nurse, SportsLine's Matt Severance writes: "If the Suns want Nurse, who led Toronto to the NBA title in 2019, they'd better act fast, as the Milwaukee Bucks also are looking at him for their opening. Overall, Nurse went 277-163 in five seasons with Toronto and was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2019. Nurse had the best winning percentage in team history (.582), made three playoff appearances, won two Atlantic Division titles, an Eastern Conference title and that NBA title. He is known to grind heavy minutes out of his players, much like the Knicks' Tom Thibodeau."

Of Young, Insiders Betting Digest writes: "He has been an assistant coach for seven seasons, including the last four with Williams in the valley. He had three years under his belt with the 76ers prior to that as well, so has been around plenty of stars during his time. It is always hard to make the jump to a first-time head coach, but he clearly knows the team philosophies and all that."
SportsLine gives Doc Rivers, the former coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, +500 odds to become the Suns' next head coach. It gives Sacramento Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez +1000 odds.
Neither site included former Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel in its odds, even though he is among the finalists for the position.
The Suns have competition for head coaches, with the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks also in the midst of coaching searches.
