Penn State vs. Maryland basketball: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Saturday

Penn State’s basketball season has quickly started to trend in the wrong direction at the worst possible time. Turning things around on Saturday will not be easy as the Nittany Lions travel to Maryland, which has been incredibly difficult to topple at home this season. Penn State will limp into its road contest with the Terrapins looking to snap a three-game losing streak that has been discouraging with losses to Nebraska and Wisconsin after a blowout loss at Purdue.

Penn State’s road game at Maryland could potentially be the toughest game remaining on the schedule as Penn State will get a revenge opportunity with Rutgers at home, and the Nittany Lions also have home games against Illinois and Maryland before the end of the regular season. But this should be the toughest road test left for Penn State before making their way to the Big Ten tournament. But Penn State is in search of regaining some confidence, and a good showing against Maryland could help turn things around for the final stretch of the regular season.

Here is how to catch all of the action Saturday afternoon from College Park, Maryland.

Dorsey, who has been banged up at times this season, has an undisclosed injury and sat out of Penn State’s last game against Wisconsin. It is unknown if the forward will be available for Penn State this weekend.

Maryland comes into the home game in good health. No players appear on the updated injury report for the Terrapins.

ESPN BPI Outlook

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Playing on the road in College Park is never an easy task, and the ESPN Basketball Power Index is not looking at Penn State in a favorable spot on the road in this one. Penn State’s road woes are expected to continue as Penn State visits Maryland. The ESPN BPI gives the Nittany Lions just a 20.1% chance of coming out of Maryland with a win.

Maryland is 12-1 at home this season. The only loss suffered by Maryland on its home court this season came against UCLA back in mid-December. UCLA was ranked no. 16 at the time of the game and has since elevated itself to a top-10 team.

Penn State will have to play a near-flawless game to hand Maryland its second loss at home.
