Penn State at Ohio State basketball: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Thursday

With just four games remaining in the regular season, Penn State men’s basketball is in need of a win on the road Thursday night against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Nittany Lions are hoping to avoid slipping in the Big Ten tournament seeding coming down the final stretch of the season, and a win in Columbus would help that cause while keeping hopes of playing in the NCAA tournament alive.

Penn State is very much on the bubble for the big dance, so it will be up to Jaloen Pikcett to continue turning in a terrific season to help get the Nittany Lions back into the tournament. This is the only matchup of the season between Penn State and Ohio State, and the Buckeyes are a slight favorite at home despite being five games under .500 with no shot at playing in the tournament without a Big Ten tournament championship. This is a game Penn State needs to have end in its favor, without question.

Here show to catch all of the Big Ten basketball action on Thursday evening.

ESPN BPI Outlook

Matthew OHaren-USA TODAY Sports

Despite having a better record, Penn State has been struggling on the road this season in Big Ten play. And perhaps because of Penn State’s road woes, the Nittany Lions are entering Thursday night as an underdog in Columbus against the Buckeyes, who are just 3-13 in Big Ten play this season.

Penn State is a slight underdog and the ESPN Basketball Power Index is not giving them much of a chance to win either. According to the gameday BPI, Penn State has just a 30.6% chance of winning at Ohio State (giving the Buckeyes a 69.4% chance to win). That is a scary percentage for Penn State, who is fighting for entry to the NCAA basketball tournament.
