Panthers add DE Haason Reddick, QB P.J. Walker to reserve/COVID-19 list

The hits keep on coming for the Carolina Panthers and the latest is a big one.

On Wednesday, the team announced the placements of defensive end Haason Reddick and quarterback P.J. Walker on the reserve/COVID-19 list. With fellow defensive end Brian Burns also having gone to the shelf on Monday, that now renders the unit’s two leading sack artists inactive for the time being.

Reddick is currently pacing the Panthers in both sacks (11.0) and quarterback hits (19). His status for Sunday’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints—as well as that of Walker’s—is, obviously, up in the air.

In a bit of encouraging news, however, Carolina did activate offensive linemen Pat Elflein and Dennis Daley off the list. Elflein’s availability puts at least one worry to rest, as the offense was left with zero centers following yesterday’s placement of Sam Tecklenburg.

The Panthers, additionally, made a few moves to their practice squad on the day—as they got back defensive Austin Larkin from his positive test and signed kicker Blake Haubeil.
