OU softball is unanimous No. 1 in preseason USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll
OU softball will enter the 2024 season as the unanimous No. 1 team in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 coaches poll.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its preseason poll on Tuesday. OU received 800 total points and all 32 first-place votes, besting No. 2-ranked Tennessee (731 points).
OU was also voted unanimously as the No. 1 team in the preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll on Jan. 23. The Sooners are the three-time defending NCAA champions, and they'll enter the 2024 season with an NCAA-record 53-game winning streak.
OU is set to begin its campaign with a game against Utah Valley on Feb. 8 in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
