Orioles activate RHP O'Day, option LHP Scott

The Baltimore Orioles activated right-handed reliever Darren O'Day from the 10-day disabled list and optioned lefty Tanner Scott to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

O'Day last pitched on May 4, five days before he went on the DL with a hyperextended right elbow.

He did not appear in Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The 35-year-old sidearmer has a 3.77 ERA with two saves and 18 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings of work this season, his seventh with the Orioles. In 11 major league seasons, O'Day has a career ERA of 2.56, including 2.39 during his time in Baltimore, and an All-Star appearance for the O's in 2015.

Scott, who turns 24 next month, posted a 4.96 ERA in 13 appearances this season, striking out 23 batters in 16 1/3 innings. This is his second year seeing major league action after the Orioles drafted him in the sixth round in 2014.
