Oregon WB recap: Ducks blow right by the College of Charleston
Oregon Ducks women’s basketball coach Kelly Graves wanted his team to get out to a better start than it did in the last game against Eastern Washington.
The Ducks took his message to heart and pounded the College of Charleston.
Oregon started the game on a 26-5 run and then easily cruised past the Cougars 97-33. It’s the second straight game that the Ducks held the opponent to just five points in a quarter.
It was evident as the game went along, the College of Charleston was running out of gas after traveling 3,000 miles across the country from South Carolina.
Oregon moves to 9-1 on the season and will now go to San Diego to face Arkansas in the San Diego Invitational on Tuesday.
Final Score: Oregon 97, College of Charleston 33

Keys to the game
Oregon was bigger and quicker than the Cougars at every position on the floor and the Ducks utilized those advantages. They went on a 26-5 run to begin the game and end any hope of a Cougars upset.
The Ducks men’s team was hot from the outside the night before and the women continued that hot streak. Oregon sank 15-of-30 from three-point land.
The bigger Ducks team easily outrebounded the opponents 50-32.
Despite the rout, it was actually a fairly clean game on both sides. The Cougars turned the ball over just 11 times and the Ducks had only eight miscues.
Phillippina Kyei just missed out on another double-double, but she still scored eight points and pulled down 13 boards.
It was a team effort offensively as Oregon managed to have five players in double figures and just a few points from having seven players score 10 or more points.
