Oregon football vs. Cal picks, odds: What national media say about Ducks vs. Golden Bears

The No. 6 Oregon Ducks took down Utah last week on the road and will look to keep that momentum going Saturday against the California Golden Bears at Autzen Stadium.

The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks at 2:30 p.m.

Via Fanduel Sportsbook, the Ducks are 23.5-point favorites at home. Oregon is -2500 on the moneyline while Cal is +1100. The over/under (point total) is set at 56.5.

The Ducks are coming off a 35-6 win over Utah, while the Golden Bears are fresh off a 50-49 loss to USC in Berkeley.

Here's what national media are saying ahead of Saturday's game.

Sporting News: Oregon covers massive spread

Bill Bender writes: “The Golden Bears put a score into USC, and this seems like a logical letdown spot given that the Ducks are coming off the emotional victory against Utah. The only problem? Oregon has the best rushing attack in the Pac-12, and they have allowed just 12.5 points per game at home. Cal is 1-3 against the spread as an underdog in Pac-12 play. Don’t count on another close call."

Pick: Oregon 45-17.

ESPN: Football Power Index (FPI) favors Oregon

The measurement of a team’s strength and how many points above or below an average team is favors Oregon, giving them a 93% chance to win outright.

FPI prediction: Oregon by 23

Sports Illustrated: Ducks win by a lot

Max Torres writes: “I’m going to give Cal’s offense a bit of credit and have them putting up some points, but it should be another big day for Oregon’s offense, and more importantly another tally in the win column.”

Pick: Oregon 52, Cal 17
