Oregon Ducks Player of the Game: Defensive Back Bennett Williams

It was a gutsy, gutsy performance from the Oregon Ducks on Saturday evening against the Utah Utes, with a hobbled Bo Nix leading the team to a 20-17 victory.

Nix wasn’t his sharpest, but Oregon’s defense had their best game of the season – holding a dangerous Utah squad to just 17 points.

While nearly everyone on Oregon’s defense played well, the player of the game no doubt belongs to defensive back Bennett Williams.

Williams pulled in a pair of interceptions against Cam Rising on the Utes, his first two interceptions of the season after he pulled in three last year.

Oregon’s offense needed more help than usual today, thanks to Nix’s inability to move around much in the pocket, but they were extremely fortunate the defense stepped up after struggling against Washington by giving up 37 points.

Oregon now carries significant momentum into next Saturday’s matchup in Corvallis against the Oregon State Beavers.
