Oregon Ducks baseball wins final road series against Arizona State Sun Devils

After snapping their six-game losing streak on Wednesday against UC San Diego, the Oregon Ducks attempted to carry that momentum in their three-game series at Arizona State.

After dropping the middle game on Saturday, the Ducks won their final road series of the season.

Oregon (31-21, 15-12) defeated Arizona State (25-27, 13-14) 15-5 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Both Josh Kasevich and Drew Cowley each registered three hits apiece. Logan Mercado claimed hissixth victory after going 2.1 innings in relief of starting pitcher Jace Stoffal.

Oregon rolled past Arizona State 11-3 Friday night, registering 14 hits, including three by Tanner Smith. The Ducks also got solid performances from their three pitchers.

Christian Ciuffetelli, RJ Gordon and Rio Britton combined to allow one run. Gordon won his third game of the season after one run on five hits.

The Ducks dropped Game 2 of the series 6-4 after the Sun Devils railed in the sixth inning to score four runs. Oregon committed three errors in the loss as Arizona State celebrated its 41st anniversary of the team's 1981 National Championship team.

Oregon will have a day off before returning Tuesday night to PK Park to will host No. 11 Gonzaga at 6 p.m. The Ducks also will host Arizona in their final regular-season series beginning 6 p.m. Thursday.
