Omaha Storm Chasers score 3 in 9th to top Columbus Clippers 5-2

Wednesday's game: Omaha 5, Columbus 2

Recap: Omaha scored three runs in the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie. Brewer Hicklen doubled in two runs and then scored on a single by Clay Dungan. Each team scored a run in the first inning, but no more runs came across until the eighth. In the top of the first, Omaha's Nate Eaton scored Samad Taylor on a sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the inning, Oscar Gonzalez knocked in Brayan Rocchio on a sacrifice fly. Rocchio opened the half-inning with a single and advanced to second on Daniel Schneemanns' single, then to third when George Valera's fielder's-choice ground ball forced out Schneemann at second. Omaha took a 2-1 lead in the eighth when Hicklen scored on a wild pitch by Cade Smith. Rocchio homered in the bottom of the eighth to tie it 2-2.
