Ohio State football adds a defensive backs graduate assistant from Michigan State

It’s coach poaching season and Ohio State is taking a Michigan State coach and making him its own. In an announcement on Twitter, former Spartan defensive back graduate assistant Gerren DuHart has joined the Buckeye staff in the same capacity.

DuHart is no stranger to Ohio. He played at Wayne State before making the transition to coaching at his alma mater. He stayed there for two years coaching the defensive backs before making the move to East Lansing during the spring of 2021.

He left the Spartan program less than a week ago and it didn’t take long for Buckeye head coach Ryan Day to add him to the program.

The Buckeye secondary really struggled this past season, so having a fresh voice on the coaching staff hopefully will help.
