Ohio State basketball officially reveals 2023-2024 nonconference schedule
We’ve heard bits and pieces come out already, but the Ohio State basketball program officially unveiled its 2023-2024 nonconference schedule on Tuesday.
“This is the best and most challenging overall schedule we have put together in a few years,” said Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann in a release. “We have a preseason Top 15 opponent coming to the Schottenstein Center in the early part of the year, a couple of preseason Top 25 teams away from home and several good regional mid-major programs in the nonconference. This is all in addition to our tremendous home slate of Big Ten opponents.”
The Buckeyes will break the seal on the season against Oakland on November 6 at home. OSU will remain at home for three more games against Texas A&M (Nov. 10), Merrimack (Nov. 15), and Western Michigan (Nov. 19) before hitting the road for the first time in the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Florida. There the Buckeyes will do battle vs. Alabama on November 24 and then play either Oregon or Santa Clara on November 25.
Ohio State’s last contest before its conference opener will take place at the Schottenstein Center opposite Central Michigan on November 30 before a Big Ten contest yet to be confirmed the following weekend. There is also a game against Miami (OH) that will still be determined as well as the matchup in the CBS Sports Classic that involves OSU, UNC, Kentucky, and UCLA, in Atlanta on Saturday, December 16. The opponent will most likely be either UCLA or Kentucky, though that is still to be confirmed.

Ohio State will finish up the nonconference part of the slate, with a game against New Orleans at home on December 21 and a neutral site contest vs. West Virginia in Cleveland on December 30.
