Noah Clowney speaks on his abilities ahead of NBA Draft

Alabama forward Noah Clowney entered the 2023 NBA draft this offseason. Clowney recently caught up with For the Win‘s Bryan Kalbrosky for an interview.

Kalbrosky asked Clowney how he felt about going from being a prospect that was not projected to be a draft pick at all to someone who could very well wind up being a mid-first-round to early second-round pick.

“Well, about the numbers, I never really kept up with it. I had some people that didn’t even think I was going to play when I went to Alabama. I feel like I have always been overlooked in a sense,” Clowney said.

Clowney was also asked how he felt about being the identity of the Alabama defense.

“I feel like defensively I can do a little bit of everything. I protect the rim and I can guard multiple positions,” Clowney added, “Even not being at the five spot all the time, I still feel like an anchor upon our defense.”

In the Rookie Wire’s latest mock draft, Clowney was projected to land at No. 37 overall to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Clowney was given the nickname “Stretch” by his teammates. The logic behind that rests in Clowney’s skillset. The South Carolina native can stretch the floor and score at all three levels. His defense is second to none, as well. If Clowney can be consistent on the offensive end, the ceiling is very high for the Alabama draft prospect.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama basketball program and its players in the 2023 NBA draft.
