UFC on Fuel TV 6 Draws Just 88,000 for Early Morning MMA, but Strong TV Ratings on Replay

Who gets up on a Saturday morning raring to watch MMA over a bowl of cereal? The answer would be the 88,000 that tuned in for UFC on Fuel TV 6 on Saturday morning, according to the number of viewers reported by MMAWeekly.com’s industry sources.

UFC on Fuel TV 6: Franklin vs. Le emanated from Macao, China. Fuel TV believes in showing sporting events like the UFC live, so the time difference between China and the U.S. meant that UFC on Fuel TV 6 aired live at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday on the network.

The UFC on Fuel TV 6 TV ratings thus clocked in at 88,000 viewers for the initial live broadcast. That is the lowest number that a UFC on Fuel TV event has drawn for the initial live broadcast.

All is not lost, however, as Fuel TV replayed the event in the evening, recording 143,000 viewers for the 7 p.m. ET start time.

Those numbers are similar to what the network drew for UFC on Fuel TV 5, which faced a similar time difference situation with the event taking place in Nottingham, England. UFC on Fuel TV 5 drew 111,000 viewers to the live broadcast, and 140,000 to the evening replay.

UFC on Fuel TV 6 featured Cung Le’s stunning one-punch knockout of former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin in the evening’s main event.
