UFC 167 Fighter Bonuses: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks Main Event Earns Fight of the Night Honors

While the controversy surrounding Georges St-Pierre’s controversial split-decision victory over Johny Hendricks and subsequent plans for a “leave of absence” overshadowed nearly everything else at UFC 167 on Saturday night in Las Vegas, the UFC still found their wits about them to issue the usual post-fight awards that net the winners each a $50,000 bonus.

Regardless of what side of the fence you landed on in regard to scoring the main event, it would be difficult not to award the Fight of the Night bonuses to St-Pierre and Hendricks. The two battled back and forth for five rounds, St-Pierre emerging the worse for the wear, and immediately went to the hospital to be assessed following the fight.

UFC officials saw it the same way and did issue the UFC 167 headliners the Fight of the Night.

Tyron Woodley’s stunning first-round finish of The Ultimate Fighter 1 alum and perennial welterweight contender Josh Koscheck scored him the Knockout of the Night bonus.

Donald Cerrone, whose bout with Evan Dunham headlined the preliminary bouts on Fox Sports 1, scored the Submission of the Night award with his second-round triangle choke that forced Dunham to tap out.
