Report: LSU's leading rusher charged with battery

Jeremy Hill, LSU's leading rusher last season as a freshman, was formally charged with battery as a result of an incident that occurred two months ago, The New Orleans Times Picayune reported.

Hill, who is already on indefinite suspension from the Tigers football team, is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday

Hill was arrested in late April, after he and another man, Robert Bayardo, allegedly punched a male victim. Hill's attorney has stated her client was provoked.

Hill was previously arrested on a felony charge of oral sexual battery involving a 14-year-old girl, according to the report. He later pleaded guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile, a misdemeanor.

Hill rushed for 755 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2012.
