The Zee Avi song will be competing for the Best Theme Song category.

Zee Avi's "Arena Cahaya" song for the "Ola Bola" film has been nominated for the Golden Horse Film Festival.

4 Oct – After raking in a number of awards at the recent 28th Festival Filem Malaysia (FFM 28) recently, "Ola Bola" continues its winning streak by getting nominated at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.

The Chui Keng Guan film is nominated under the Best Theme Song category for its original song, "Arena Cahaya" sung by Zee Avi.

The song will be going up against, "It's Cold Without Your Love" from the film "Big Fish & Begonia" (China), "Sawadika" from the film "Detective Chinatown (China), "Love Without Words" from the film "Lokah Laqi! Hang In There, Kids!" (Taiwan), and "It's Not A Crime" from the film "Soul Mate" (China).

"I am really proud to be one of the composers for this song along with Zee Avi and production assistant Alvin Wee (who did the mixing). It is magical that the song has not only been well-received in Malaysia, but now also overseas," said Rendra Zawawi as quoted by New Straits Times.

According to Rendra, the news of the nomination was informed to him by Zee Avi herself via text messaging.

Rendra added that he hopes that all three of them would be able to attend the prestigious award ceremony in Taiwan.

Previously, "Arena Cahaya" had won the Best Theme Song award at the recent FFM 28 which took place in early September.
