Winter is here. And while we may complain about the cold, it comes with some benefits. Winter is also an excellent excuse to drink delicious hot beverages like hot chocolate! Who doesn’t love a warm hot cocoa? Chocolate that warms you up? It sounds better than butterbeer. Well, our friends at Metro have discovered a way to make our hot chocolate even more delicious: hot chocolate with blooming marshmallow flowers!
That’s right, marshmallows that bloom. And you thought hot beverages couldn’t get more tasty. If red wine hot chocolate isn’t your thing, we suspect this fun take on hot cocoa with marshmallows will definitely be up your alley.

According to Metro, this creative winter creation was created by Dominique Ansel. Dominique Ansel is the creator of the Cronut and cookie shots. Cookie shots?! Clearly, the man’s a genius. He labels his take on hot chocolate “Dominique’s Blossoming Hot Chocolate.” It is “topped with a marshmallow flower held closed by a small, thin ring of white chocolate.” And there’s hot chocolate in this already gorgeous creation? Yum.
Of course, it’s no surprise that Dominique Ansel creates such gorgeous desserts! Just look at his Instagram:

In an interview with Bon Appetit, Dominique Ansel explained his food philosophy:
For me, food is all about texture, temperature, and emotion. I remember eating baguettes that were still hot from the oven, and tasting the nuttiness of the crust. It had this crunch, but it was still steaming and tender inside. When somebody eats my DKA, I hope they feel the same.
In other words, if you live in Tokyo, New York, or London, you should head to Dominique Ansel’s bakery ASAP. Maybe get yourself some gorgeous hot cocoa. Perhaps a side of a cronut or a slice of pie. Either way, be sure to take pictures first! Because before you know it, that delicious treat will be gone.
