Are we entering the summer of Kyle Busch?

Busch scored the pole for Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen, his third-straight pole of 2017. Busch beat out Kyle Larson for the top spot. Martin Truex Jr., Chase Elliott and Daniel Suarez round out the top five.

Busch started first at Indianapolis two weeks ago and had the race’s dominant car. But he got caught up in a crash with Truex and finished 34th. A week ago at Pocono, he started first and ended up first, getting his first victory of the season.

In addition to being his third-straight pole position, it’s the fourth pole in five races for the 2015 champion and his sixth No. 1 starting spot of the year.

Busch has been incredibly fast at times throughout the season but hasn’t had consistent speed or enough breaks to finish off races before last week’s race at Pocono. Perhaps things are turning around. Busch won Saturday’s Xfinity race at Watkins Glen and is the only active Cup Series driver with two Cup wins at the track.
