Jim Irsay throws some shade of his former GM

We are just over a week away from the 2017 NFL Combine. A time when new Colts general manager Chris Ballard and coach Chuck Pagano will try find the right players to turn this team around.

The Colts are coming off of back-to-back 8-8 seasons. Even in the dreadful AFC South, Jim Irsay has had to watch his teams miss the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time in almost 20 years.

Irsay elected to change some of the culture when he fired Ryan Grigson last month and brought in Chris Ballard. And on Twitter today, Irsay threw some shade at Grigson.

Wow. Grigson may not be on Twitter, but at some point you know he is at least going to hear about this. If you remember correctly, Pagano and Grigson never got along.

NFL Draft:: The five most polarizing prospects in this year’s draft class

Even Irsay had to step in last season and appoint them to a therapist. It clearly did not work, and the two butted heads over the last four years.

A turn in which we saw the Colts almost get to the Super Bowl. But that was two years ago, and the Colts defense is one of the worst units in the league.

Now Pagano and Ballard are forced with the outcasts that Grigson left behind. If the two are actually on the same page, then we should see a draft in which the Colts load up on the defensive side of the ball.

Sure, having Andrew Luck always helps. But the Colts need help at almost every other position on the roster. Hopefully this works out.

But for now, we can just enjoy Irsay ripping his former GM on Twitter.
