Ghosts of Wrigley: The top 25 old Cubs jerseys we saw at the World Series
CHICAGO — Looking around Wrigley Field, there’s no shortage of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Jake Arrieta jerseys. That is exactly what you’d expect considering this young and interesting Chicago Cubs team. Of course, people are going to wear a Kris Bryant jersey to the first World Series game at Wrigley Field in 71 years.
But Friday night at Game 3 they wore some other jerseys too. Old ones. Classic ones. Random ones.
What makes someone go to the World Series at Wrigley Field and wear a Carlos Zambrano jersey? Not sure, but we respect it. Keep that in mind with these rankings. We’re not ranking the players — we’re ranking the idea of still owning one of these jerseys in 2016, then deciding to wear it to the World-freaking-Series. So yeah, Ryne Sandberg is great but Carlos Marmol is going to rank higher.
