Nets’ Ben Simmons ruled out for Wednesday against LA Clippers

NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets will be playing the third consecutive game at home on Wednesday when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers, but they will be even more shorthanded than normal in the team’s quest to win its first home game of the 2023-24 season.

On Wednesday, the Nets ruled out Ben Simmons for the game against the Clippers due to left hip soreness. Simmons first appeared on the injury report earlier in the day, but he was listed as questionable after he reported some soreness to Brooklyn head coach Jacque Vaughn and the rest of the coaching staff and performance staff.

According to Vaughn, Simmons took some contact to that hip in Monday’s 129-125 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Vaughn didn’t commit to Simmons playing against the Boston Celtics on Friday only to say that he would see how Simmons feels leading up to the game. Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton were ruled out for the sixth consecutive game with their respective injuries.
