NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ late letdown loss vs. Celtics in Game 1 of NBA Finals

To start the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors came out firing in Game 1 against the Boston Celtics. The Warriors surged to an early lead behind a fiery first quarter from Steph Curry. The Western Conference finals Most Valuable Player tallied 21 points with six 3-pointers in the opening frame alone.

While the Celtics tried their best to answer, the Warriors’ signature third-quarter answer helped extend their lead to as many as 15 points. Despite Golden State’s commanding 12-point lead heading into the fourth quarter of Game 1, Boston still had one run left in the tank.

With Derrick White, Al Horford and Jaylen Brown firing, the Celtics stormed back into the contest. In the final 12 minutes, the Celtics drilled nine 3-pointers to cut into the Warriors’ advantage and take over the game. As the Celtics hit a barrage of clutch shots, the Warriors’ offense went cold. Boston outscored Golden State 40-16 to steal Game 1 in a stunning comeback, 120-108.

Curry tallied a game-high 34 points on 12-of-25 shooting from the floor with seven made 3-pointers but it wasn’t enough. Horford, White and Brown all notched over 20 points to help the Celtics take a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

After the Warriors blew Game 1 against the Celtics in a letdown loss, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans, analysts and players were saying on social media on Thursday night.
