Filip Forsberg scores 33 seconds into OT as Nashville Predators earn a crazy win at Carolina

Filip Forsberg sent the Nashville Predators home with two points in overtime for the second straight game.

Forsberg scored 33 seconds into OT to give Nashville a wild 6-5 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday at PNC Arena in Raleigh.

The Preds' top goal scorer scored 18 seconds into overtime on Tuesday in Nashville's 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

Jeremy Lauzon scored at 10 minutes, 57 seconds of the third period to tie the game at 5 in a calmer final period of regulation compared to the six-goal second period.

The second period featured two Hurricanes goals in 19 seconds, followed minutes later by three total goals in 52 seconds. A Ryan O'Reilly power play goal and Tyson Barrie's first goal of the season bookended Martin Necas' top-shelf goal midway through the second period, as Carolina tried to hold onto a 5-4 lead.

Roman Josi and Juuso Parssinen also had goals for Nashville. Kevin Lankinen had 25 saves on 30 shots.

Recap the game below.

Nashville Predators live score updates, highlights vs. Carolina Hurricanes

FINAL: Predators 6, Hurricanes 5 in OT: Filip Forsberg does it again

Hurricanes 5, Predators 5 at 10:57 of the third period: Jeremy Lauzon goal ties the game

Predators have a 3-on-2, and Jeremy Lauzon ends up joining the rush and getting the goal on a nice shot from the slot. Luke Evangelista did well to find the Nashville defenseman.

Tie game in Raleigh.

Hurricanes 5, Predators 4 at 10:18 of the second period: Tyson Barrie gets in on the goal scoring

A wild last 90 seconds continues with Tyson Barrie burying a shot from a premium spot in front of Raanta.

Both goalies are having a hard time keeping the puck out of the net, though there is some poor team defense being played in Raleigh tonight too.

Nevertheless, Nashville is down one.

Hurricanes 5, Predators 3 at 9:51 of the second period: Martin Necas extends Carolina's lead

Martin Necas gets a good look some 24 seconds after O'Reilly's power play goal, and he buries it top shelf past Lankinen. Not much Lankinen can do with that shot. Predators defense has been not good in this period.

Hurricanes 4, Predators 3 at 9:26 of the second period: Ryan O'Reilly power play goal cuts Carolina's lead to 1

Ryan O'Reilly scores on the power play for goal No. 13 of the season.

Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi get the assists. Hurricanes lead 4-3.

Hurricanes 4, Predators 2 at 5:09 of the second period: 2 goals in 19 seconds

Carolina scores its second goal in 19 seconds, off a Predators turnover. Tommy Novak can't carry or clear the puck from the defensive end, and Sebastian Aho gets the goal on a 3-on-2.

Predators making some very avoidable mistakes that lead to goals.

Hurricanes 3, Predators 2 at 4:50 of the second period: Carolina back in the lead

Hurricanes defenseman Jalen Chatfield gets his third goal of the season as Carolina makes a string of excellent passes that leads to Chatfield scoring on Lankinen's doorstep.

Carolina back in front.

Hurricanes 2, Predators 2 at 3:47 of the second period: Roman Josi ties the game early in the second

Roman Josi carries the puck around the offensive zone, and he buries a wraparound by Raanta's leg. Well done by the captain.

Nashville ties the game at 2-2.

Hurricanes 2, Predators 1 at 12:13 of the first period: Carolina 2-for-2 on the power play

Less than two minutes after Carolina's first power play goal, Yakov Trenin takes a tripping penalty. The Hurricanes power play goes to work quickly.

Off a faceoff, Tony DeAngelo's shot from the point is redirected by Michael Bunting and ends up in the net eight seconds into the power play. Lankinen should have gotten a piece of that puck but did not.

From the obvious observation department: The Predators need to stay out of the penalty box. Carolina leads 2-1.

Predators 1, Hurricanes 1 at 10:23 of the first period: Carolina ties it up on the power play

Alexandre Carrier takes a hooking penalty, and Carolina takes advantage late in the power play.

Carolina's Jack Drury gets a clean look at a one-timer in the slot, and Stefan Noesen gets a piece of the puck before it flies past Lankinen. The Preds' penalty kill, which has been up and down, allows another goal. The PK was in a solid position, but the Canes' power play made a quick play for the goal.

1-1 in the middle of the first.

Predators 1, Hurricanes 0 at 5:18 of the first period: Juuso Parssinen puts Predators ahead

A quick start for the Predators, with Juuso Parssinen beating Antti Raanta with a backhanded shot. Not sure how it could have gotten through Raanta. Carolina's goaltending issues are already playing a role in this game.

Preds lead 1-0.

Kevin Lankinen is in goal tonight

Kevin Lankinen is the Predators' goaltender for Friday's game, presumably leaving Juuse Saros for tomorrow's game against Washington.
