How Juuse Saros, Filip Forsberg helped Nashville Predators end losing streak at two

The Nashville Predators completed their first back-to-back of the season Sunday with a 2-1 road victory against the Buffalo Sabres.

Filip Forsberg’s team-best 13th goal of the season with 10 minutes, 20 seconds left in the first period put the Predators ahead 1-0. Forsberg pinged the puck off the post and past Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen right off a faceoff.

Yakov Trenin’s fifth goal of the season 1:14 later made it 2-0 Nashville.

Victor Olofsson converted on a penalty shot halfway through the second period to cut the Sabres’ deficit in half.

The Predators had lost two in a row on the heels of their six-game winning streak. They were coming off a 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday at Bridgestone Arena, a game in which they blew a two-goal lead.

The Predators recalled forward Mark Jankowski from AHL Milwaukee before the game.

Juuse Saros started in goal for Nashville (12-12-0) and made 34 saves. The Sabres (10-13-2) have lost three in a row.
