Nashville Predators add Juuso Parssinen ahead of Game 3 against Vancouver Canucks

The Nashville Predators have recalled Juuso Parssinen from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Thursday, adding forward depth ahead of Game 3 against the Vancouver Canucks.

The best-of-seven series resumes Friday (6:30 p.m., TBS, Bally Sports South) at Bridgestone Arena. The series is tied 1-1.

Parssinen was at practice at Centennial Sportsplex, working in drills with the forwards, and getting ice time with the NHL club for the first time since Jan. 20.

Parssinen played in 44 games for the Predators before being sent down in January, recording eight goals and four assists for Nashville. For the Admirals, Parssinen recorded seven goals, 18 assists in 36 games. He also had eight multi-point games with Milwaukee, closing out the regular season with six points in his final five contests.

7TH ROUNDER: Nashville Predators' Juuso Parssinen is 7th-round pick who found his way to top line

With Milwaukee earning a bye in the Calder Cup playoffs, the Admirals will not play again until the weekend of May 3-5. With the team idle, Parssinen makes sense as a depth addition for the Predators, since he's not skating for at least a week.

Last season, Parssinen had a breakout season for the Predators, scoring 25 points in 45 games, but struggled to find the same energy early this season. He began the season on the top line with Ryan O'Reilly and Filip Forsberg, but was soon replaced by Gustav Nyquist.

After Nyquist joined the line, the Predators' top unit was one of the best in the league. Forsberg scored 48 goals for the Predators this season, breaking the franchise record for goals scored in a season.
