Nashville area top performers Week 8: PCA takes home Middle Region volleyball title

The volleyball and soccer postseason has begun. Here's a look at the top performers from the Nashville area during Week 8.

Thursday

Soccer

Emily Quant, Fairview: Quant finished with a goal as Fairview captured the District 11-2A tournament championship with a 2-1 win over Sycamore.

Jackie Reding, Fairview: Reding scored a goal.

Brooklyn Jones, Goodpasture: Jones led the Lady Cougars with four goals in a 9-0 win over MTCS.

Presley Cavender, Goodpasture: Cavender added two goals and an assist.

Lexi Abraham, Goodpasture: Abraham had two goals in the win.

Grace Fortner, Goodpasture: Fortner finished with a pair of assists.

Kristen DeSantis, Rossview: DeSantis recorded a hat trick with two assists in a 8-2 District 13-3A tournament championship.

Eva Greenwald, Rossview: Greenwald matched DeSantis with a hat trick and two assists.

Cassie Villa, Rossview: Villa finished with two goals and an assist.

Volleyball

Alina Dziembowski, Clarksville: Dziembowski had six kills and a block as CHS dropped Rossview, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-23) to capture the District 13-3A tournament championship.

Keira Garinger, Clarksville: Garinger had 10 kills, 11 digs and three aces.

Rylee Sullivan, Clarksville: Sullivan finished with 13 assists, 11 digs and four aces.

Tia James, PCA: James had three assists, 26 digs and an ace as PCA knocked off MTCS in the Division II-A Middle Region championship, 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-18).

Lillie Meinhart, PCA: Meinhart had three kills, 38 assists, 16 digs, four blocks and two aces.

McKenna Shotwell, PCA: Shotwell led PCA with 22 kills and added 19 digs and four aces.

Tuesday

Soccer

Silvia Shirey, Hume-Fogg: Shirey scored the lone goal and the final four minutes as Hume-Fogg dropped Valor Prep 1-0 in the District 10-2A semifinal.

Kristen DeSantis, Rossview: DeSantis led Rossview to a 9-0 District 13-3A tournament semifinal win over Springfield with four goals and three assists.

Eva Greenwald, Rossview: Greenwald had a pair of goals and an assist.

Samantha Kueker, Rossview: Kueker added a pair of assists.

Cassie Villa, Rossview: Villa added two goals and an assist.

Elle Lassiter, Station Camp: Lassiter had a goal and assist as Station Camp beat Beech, 8-1.

Emri Lassiter, Station Camp: Emri added a goal and assist.

Emma Wood, Station Camp: Wood finished with a three of assists in the win.

Ayden Wood, Station Camp: Wood had four goals and two assists.

Taylor Genova, Stewarts Creek: Genova scored two goals in a 4-4 draw with Summit.

Camryn Merryman, Stewarts Creek: Merryman had a goal and an assist.

Brittany Williams, West Creek: Had two goals and one assist in a 3-2 win over Henry County in the District 14-AAA tournament.

Volleyball

Keira Garinger, Clarksville: Garinger had 12 kills, three aces and 13 digs as CHS beat Northeast 3-0 (25-18, 25-9, 25-11).

Ella Moore, Clarksville: Moore finished with six kills, three blocks and eight digs.

Haley Hudson, MTCS: Hudson became the school's all-time leader in assists and surpassing 3,000 in her career after gathering 33, n a 3-0 win over Goodpasture in the region semifinals. She also had 12 digs.

Anna Clay Shirley, MTCS: Shirley had 10 kills and 17 digs.

Mia Mitchell, Lipscomb Academy: Mitchell had seven kills and a .500 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win over Harpeth Hall.

Gracie Smitherman, Lipscomb Academy: Smitherman had 11 kills and a .440 hitting percentage.

Kayte-Madison Bjornstad, PCA: Bjornstad had five kills, three digs, two blocks and an ace in a 3-0 win over Donelson Christian in the Division II-A Middle Region semifinal (25-13, 25-14, 25-22).

Sadie Kroeger, PCA: Kroeger finished with 15 kills, 22 digs and one ace.

McKenna Shotwell, PCA: Shotwell led PCA with 25 kills and had an assist, 25 digs and two aces.

Monday

Soccer

Lexi Abraham, Goodpasture: Abraham had a goal and assist as Goodpasture knocked off Greenbrier, 6-0.

Presley Cavender, Goodpasture: Cavender also had a goal and assist.

Mackenzie Garvin, Northwest: Garvin scored four goals in a 9-0 win over Kenwood in a District 14-AAA play-in game.

Kierah Sessoms, Northwest: Sessoms scored five goals in the win.

Volleyball

Kailey Thomas, Lipscomb Academy: Thomas had nine kills and a .750 attacking percentage as the Lady Mustangs dropped Pope John Paul II, 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-8).

Ruby Walton, Lipscomb Academy: Walter added 10 kills, four aces with 2.7 passing percentage and a .333 attacking percentage.

Anna Clay Shirley, MTCS: Shirley had 15 kills, nine digs an an ace in a 3-0 win over Friendship Christian in the region quarterfinals.

Symphanie Browne, Northeast: Browne totaled nine kills and nine blocks in a four-set win over Kirkwood in the District 13-AAA tournament.

Sadie Kroeger, PCA: Kroeger had 15 Kills, eight digs, a block and two aces as PCA secured its spot in the Division II-A state tournament with a 3-0 win over Davidson Academy in the first round Middle Region tournament (25-5, 25-21, 25-14)

Lillie Meinhart, PCA: Meinhart added three kills, 16 assists, 16 digs, five blocks and five aces.

McKenna Shotwell, PCA: Shotwell had 12 kills, 25 digs and three aces.

Karlee Hedin, Waverly: Hedin had two aces, four kills, a dig, a block and 14 assists as Waverly dropped Santa Fe in the first round of the District 10-A tournament, 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-7)

Carlee Hollifield, Waverly: Hollifield added three aces, six kills, five digs and 14 assists.
