Nashville area high school girls basketball Small Class rankings: See who is on the rise

The Tennessean’s Nashville area high school girls basketball Small Class rankings have been released.

Schools chosen are from Class 1A, 2A and Division II-A. Results were compiled from games between Feb. 5-10.

1. York Institute (20-5) — The Dragonettes went 3-0 during and Clemson commitment Reese Beaty was selected as a Miss Basketball finalist for the second year in a row. Raylee Werner scored 21 points in the regular-season finale against Smith County. Last week: No. 1.

2. Wayne County (24-3) — Defending Class 1A Miss Basketball Blair Baugus was again selected as a finalist for the award and Jac Keaton averaged 18.7 points and 9.7 rebounds to keep the Lady Wildcats rolling. Last week: No. 2.

3. Summertown (23-5) — The Lady Eagles are on a seven-game win streak heading into the postseason. Karlie Campbell scored 23 points in a 70-21 win over Mt. Pleasant to end the regular season. Last week: No. 3.

4. PCA (20-4) — Daisy Gale combined for 41 points in two DII-A District 3 tournament games to help the Lady Lions win the title. Last week: No. 4.

5. Cheatham County (24-2) — The Lady Cubs have won 13 games in a row heading into the postseason. Last week: No. 5.

6. Goodpasture (20-3) — The Lady Cougars are on a 12-game win streak after defeating Ezell-Harding 62-26 for the DII-A District 4 tournament title. Lazaviona Hawkins, Addi Ruffin and Brookly Jones were named to the all-tournament team. Last week: No. 6.

7. Richland (20-5) — The Lady Raiders picked up a big 45-41 non-district win over Loretto. Shelby Higgins had 16 points. Last week: No. 10.

8. Pickett County (20-2) — The Lady Bobcats are cruising into the postseason on a 16-game win streak. Last week: No. 8.

9. East Robertson (19-4)  — Allye Pennington led with 29 points in a 65-49 win over White House-Heritage as East Robertson’s win streak reached 13. Last week: No. 9.

10. Loretto (21-3) — The Lady Mustangs have lost two of their last four after the loss to Richland. Ally Weathers and Sophia Weathers each scored 12 points Last week: No. 7.
