Fox Valley Association Championships

FOND DU LAC - Kimberly won the boys team championship for the eighth season in a row, not including the pandemic canceled season in 2020, while the Kaukauna girls won their third FVA team title and the first since 1987.

Alejandro Pagan Vega won the 100-meter dash and the 200 dash for Kimberly. Logan Salzmann won the 1,600 and the Papermakers also won the 800 relay with the team of Carter Howard, Jeremy Dercks, Julien Karp and Pagan Vega.

Ben Smith of Hortonville was a double winner, taking first in the shot put and the discus throw.

The Kaukauna girls got first-place finishes from Emma Sippel in the 100, Isabelle Maass in the 400 and Katie Jenson in the discus.

Mazie Olkowski of Neenah was a double winner, taking first in the 1,600 and the 3,200.

The Rockets’ Rachel Dietrich won the 800 and was on the winning 1,600 relay team with Celia Gentile, Julia Rangel and Ava Schalow. Gentile also won the long jump and was on the victorious 400 relay team with Brynn Fox, Lilly Granditzke and Abbie Fischer.

Eastern Wisconsin Conference Championships

SHEBOYGAN FALLS - Kiel won the boys team title with 176 points, while Chilton had 144 points to win the girls team championship.

Brillion’s Lucas Mathes won the 800-meter run, the triple jump and was part of the winning 1,600 relay with Jacob Lehman, Ian Calaway and Heath Cousin.

Calaway also won the 400 for the Lions and was part of the winning 400 relay team with Brennen Kleist, Cousin, Lehman and William VanderZanden.

VanderZanden also won the high jump.

In the girls meet, Chilton’s Erietta Davis was a double winner in the shot put and discus. Maddie Mertz won the 300 hurdles for the Tigers, and their 400 relay team of Adeline Bodinger, Taylor Byrge, Samantha Koehler and Amber Anhalt also took first.

Brillion’s Addie Wenzel won the 100 and was part of the Lions’ first-place 800 relay team with Taylor Brandenburg, Shania Nohr and Sophia Galoff.

Galoff also won the pole vault.

BASEBALL

Appleton East 5, Fond du Lac 4

APPLETON - Mason Winkler pitched six innings to get the win for the Patriots in the victory over the Cardinals.

Winkler gave up five hits, two earned runs and struck out three.

Cade Prestigiacomo had two hits, including a double, and an RBI for East.

Kimberly 10, Appleton West 2

APPLETON - Connor Olson pitched a strong 6⅔ innings for the Papermakers in the win over the Terrors.

Olson allowed one hit, zero earned runs and struck out seven.

Brady Coons had two hits, including a double, and three RBI for Kimberly. Ben Johnston added two hits and an RBI.

Hortonville 7, Oshkosh North 6

HORTONVILLE - The Polar Bears scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the victory over the Spartans.

Kael Konrad provided the dramatics for Hortonville with a three-run, walk-off home run. He finished with two hits and four RBI.

Kam Chronis added a double and a solo home run for Hortonville, and Rashaud Kastner had a double and an RBI.

Chronis pitched 1⅓ innings to get the win. He did not allow a hit or a run.

Neenah 5, Oshkosh West 4

NEENAH - Mack Krause hit a home run and drove in two runs for the Rockets in the win over the Wildcats.

St. Mary Catholic 18, Hilbert 1

FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs scored 11 runs in the second inning and finished with 18 hits in the five-inning win over the Wolves.

Fisher MacKenzie had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs for SMC. Colin Nigl added three hits, including two doubles, and two RBI. Grant Brazzale added three hits and three RBI, and Mason Wagner had three hits and two RBI. Noah Decker added two hits and two RBI, and Luke Fairweather had two hits and an RBI.

Brazzale pitched a complete game for the Zephyrs. He gave up four hits, an unearned run and struck out five.

Shiocton 11-7, Iola-Scandinavia 1-2

SHIOCTON - The Chiefs swept the Central Wisconsin Conference-East doubleheader from the Thunderbirds.

Carter Young had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs in the 11-1 five-inning victory. Bennett Schmidt added two hits, while Jackson Young and Ty Marcks added two RBI apiece.

Marcks was the winning pitcher, going five innings and allowing three hits while striking out five.

In the 7-2 victory, Jackson Young had two hits and drove in two runs. Carter Young and James Mutchie both had two hits. Blake Carton added a double.

Saywer Young pitched five innings to get the win. He allowed two hits, two runs (both unearned) and struck out seven.

Bonduel 3, Manawa 2

MANAWA - Noah Weier pitched a complete game for the Bears in the win over the Wolves.

Weier gave up two runs, four hits and one walk while striking out seven.

Dakota Stroud pitched a complete game for Manawa. He gave up three hits, walked two and struck out six.

The Bears are now 16-3 overall and 10-1 in the CWC-East.

SOFTBALL

Appleton West 5, Ripon 3

RIPON - Ali Raddatz had two hits, including her first home run, to power the Terrors to the nonconference win.

Morgan Baehman went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI for West. Addison Edmunds and Trinity Smigielski each had two hits.

Oshkosh West 10, Appleton North 5

APPLETON - The Wildcats scored five runs in the fourth inning to break open the game against the Lightning.

Freshman Alexia Monroe pitched four innings for Oshkosh West to get the win. She allowed two runs and struck out four. Freshman Izzy Kramer pitched the final three innings, giving up three runs while striking out five.

Colleen Fitzpatrick had a double and a triple for West. Marnie Gray added two hits.

Amherst 11, Shiocton 6

SHIOCTON - Sydney Ritchie had a home run and drove in three runs for the Chiefs in the loss.

Liz Pelky added three hits for Shiocton.
