Mississippi State women's basketball adds another All-Big East transfer in Darrione Rogers

STARKVILLE — DePaul guard Darrione Rogers is transferring to Mississippi State women's basketball, she announced via social media on Thursday. Rogers marks the second All-Big East addition for coach Sam Purcell in the last two weeks, joining Seton Hall transfer Lauren Park-Lane.

"STARKVEGAS! What's good?," Rogers wrote on Twitter.

Rogers, a Chicago native, spent three seasons with her hometown Blue Demons. In the 2020-21 season, she averaged 9.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists en route to the All-Big East freshman team. She followed that up with similar numbers as a sophomore before a jump last season.

Rogers averaged 16.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists to earn a spot on the All-Big East second team. Her season highlights include a career-high 36 points against Miami — an eventual Elite Eight team.
