Michigan football makes top 5 for 2025 four-star QB
He’s not the top name on the list, but it’s pretty clear — for every team in 2025 — who is.
As Michigan football works diligently to secure 2025 Belleville (Michigan) five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall player in the class, regardless of position, others quarterbacks are in the mix as contingencies.
Perhaps the most popular is Ryan Montgomery, the Findlay (Ohio) four-star who was long seen as choosing between Michigan and Ohio State, if not an outright Ohio State lean, before the Buckeyes accepted a commitment from Bellefontaine (Ohio) four-star QB Tavien St. Clair.
However, there are others on the board looking at the Wolverines.
One such player is Stone Saunders, the Harrisburg (Pennsylvania) Bishop DeVitt four-star. Rated the No. 290 player according to the 247Sports composite, he’s the 21st-ranked quarterback in 2025. He dropped a top five on Tuesday, and Michigan football made the cut, along with presumed favorite Kentucky, Georgia, Nebraska and Miami.

No matter which way you shake it, the Wolverines should be in a good position when it comes to finding their signal caller in 2025. While many would look at it as Underwood or bust, should the enigmatic talent 10 miles down the road choose to go elsewhere, there are options to be had in the quarterback-heavy class.
