Michigan football adds Central Michigan, New Mexico to 2025 schedule

Michigan football has added two opponents to a future schedule.

The Wolverines announced Wednesday afternoon that they will play Central Michigan and New Mexico in 2025, with both games taking place in Ann Arbor. Michigan will play New Mexico on Aug. 30 in the season opener and against CMU on Sept. 13.

Michigan has never played against New Mexico before, while it has played the Chippewas five times in program history, most recently in 2011.

The two games will bookend U-M's trip to Oklahoma on Sept. 6, a marquee matchup that was announced in 2014. The home-and-home series will take place in 2025 and 2026, with the Sooners scheduled to visit Ann Arbor on Sept. 12, 2026.

Michigan's other nine regular season games that season are scheduled to be Big Ten games.
