After a 1-0 victory Friday night, the Mets are looking to keep the winning ways going as they host the Colorado Rockies on Saturday afternoon at 4:10 p.m. on SNY.

  • The Mets' 1-0 win on Friday night snapped their losing streak at three games

  • Brandon Nimmo drove in the only run of the game with his third home run of the season. He's now hitting .311 with a .875 OPS on the year

  • Batting sixth for the first time in his career, Brett Baty picked up another hit. The rookie has now reached base in six of his last seven games, and is batting .409 over that span

  • Eduardo Escobar will receive his first start at second base this season. Over his past seven games, he's hitting .286 with a pair of homers

  • David Robertson has allowed just one run over 14.1 innings this season, good for a 0.63 ERA. He has struck out 18 in 13 appearances and converted all six of his save opportunities

  • Adam Ottavino worked out of danger in the ninth to secure his fourth save of the season last night. He has a 3.75 ERA through 13 appearances

Who is starting for the Mets?

Tylor Megill takes the ball for the Mets this afternoon. The right-hander ran into some sixth-inning struggles his last time out against the Braves.

After tossing five shutout innings, Megill allowed a bases-clearing double to Eddie Rosario in the sixth to give Atlanta the lead. He finished his day allowing three runs on four hits over 5.2 innings.

Megill is 3-1 with a 4.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts through six starts this season. He's issued 15 walks and has allowed five homers. 

Who is starting for the Rockies?

Austin Gomber toes the rubber for the visitors in this one. The left-hander struggled over his first four starts of the season, but has settled into a little groove.

Gomber allowed a total of 23 runs over just 15.2 innings of work in those first four starts. Since then, he's allowed just one run in his next two outings.

Gomber has a 7.57 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, and just 19 strikeouts on the year. He's fared well in two career starts against the Mets, posting a 2.40 ERA and 0.73 WHIP.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets and Rockies play the third and final game of this weekend set on Sunday afternoon at 1:40 p.m. at Citi Field on SNY.

It's expected that lefty Joey Lucchesi will take the ball for the Mets after throwing just 46 pitches his last time out. Young right-hander Ryan Feltner (2-2, 4.45 ERA) will start for the Rockies.
