Who is starting for the Mets?

Tylor Megill is looking to continue his solid start to the season, after allowing just two runs over 11 innings (1.64 ERA and 3.86 FIP) in his first two starts.

This will be Megill's first start against a team that isn't the Miami Marlins, who had nine hits (including a homer) and drew four walks while striking out 10 times in his first two starts.

In seven April starts since 2022, Megill is 6-0 with a 1.85 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 39 innings.

Who is starting for the Padres?

Blake Snell has gotten off to a rough start in 2023, allowing seven runs (all earned) in his first two starts in which he has lasted only eight innings (7.88 ERA and 4.16 FIP). The lefty has allowed 12 hits and walked five batters already.

Snell started Game 2 of the Wild Card series last fall at Citi Field and allowed two runs on four hits over 3.1 innings pitched, while walking six and striking out five. A game the Mets would win 7-3.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets use the matinee Wednesday to get a jump on travel to the West Coast for a 10-game road trip against the Oakland A's, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants.

They are off Thursday before facing the A's on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 9:40 p.m. on SNY.
