What stands out

Notable members of the roster include members on the Grizzlies roster such as David Roddy, Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Jake LaRavia. Noticeably, Ziaire Williams is not on the summer league roster.

The most recent draft picks from the Grizzlies. GG Jackson, the No. 45 pick, and Tarik Biberovic, the No. 56 pick are both playing in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas as well.

Jackson, who was once one of the top prospects in his class, is a low-floor, high-ceiling prospect.

As for Biberovic, though he is going to appear in uniform, the Grizzlies have made it known that he will be a draft and stash prospect.

Following the NBA draft, Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said the team was really impressed with Biberovic’s shooting ability.

“He’s made healthy, sustained progress,” Kleiman said. “If he keeps making progress, (he) has a real chance to make it at this level. We’re excited to have his rights.”

Other intriguing prospects from the roster include Joel Ayayi from Gonzaga. Ayayi was a solid contributor for the Bulldogs, where he appeared in 23 games and played solid minutes.

Ayayi went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, and has bounced around two-way contracts with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards. Ayayi spent the past season with the Lakeland Magic — the G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic.
