Brandon Marshall has been polarizing throughout his NFL career.

The New York Giants wide receiver speaks his mind. This quality made him an excellent analyst on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL”.

The reaction of teammates are another story. The Giants are Marshall’s fifth team entering his 12th NFL season. He spent the previous two seasons with the stadium-mate New York Jets before signing with the Giants in the offseason.

Two weeks ago, Marshall took some parting shots at the Jets in a radio interview. He feels Gang Green has no chance at winning in 2017.

“I just knew I couldn’t be in that environment,” he said of the Jets. “I think everyone knows the type of personality I am at this point in my career. I wouldn’t have made it through an entire season knowing that we didn’t have a chance. That’s all you want as a player. You just want a chance.”

Marshall’s 2015 season with the Jets was very productive. He had 109 receptions for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns. Marshall was among the top-five wide receivers in targets, receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. He also surpassed the 10,000-yard receiving mark. The Jets went 10-6 but missed the playoffs.

2016 was another matter. Marshall only had 59 receptions for 788 yards and three touchdowns. His beef with defensive end Sheldon Richardson was well documented. The Jets went 5-11.

Marshall’s comments rubbed one of his former teammates the wrong way: running back Matt Forte.

Forte, who played with Marshall on two different teams (the Jets and Chicago Bears), did not appreciate Marshall throwing the Jets under the bus.

“It doesn’t matter, he’s not here,” Forte said on the first day of Jets training camp. “He hasn’t been here the entire offseason, so he doesn’t know what chance we have or anyone has. That’s Brandon speaking on Brandon, that’s all. That’s all I have to say about that.”
