The biggest week in golf is upon us, and we are only a day away from the first-round tee-off at Augusta National to begin the first major of the year, The Masters.

Tiger Woods became emotional while discussing his participation in this year's Masters at a tournament press conference as he begins his pursuit of another green jacket. Woods first played at Augusta National at the age of 19 in 1995, 29 years ago.

Scottie Scheffler, the 2022 Masters champion, is favored to win another major title at The Masters ahead of the defending champion, Jon Rahm, setting the scene for thrilling action.

Scottie Scheffler, the world's top-ranked golfer, is favored to win his second green jacket at 88th edition of the first major of the year at Augusta National and goes in as the tournament favorite with a +400 odds to win.

Rory McIlroy Birdies in Round 1: Over 3.5 (-105)

At the 2024 Players Championship, Rory McIlroy tied the record for the most birdies in a first round with 10 and finished tied for 19th in the PGA Tour event.

Rory McIlroy is entering his 16th Masters tournament with the hopes of winning his first green jacket, and his 10th attempt to complete the career Grand Slam. Currently, McIllroy is the second favorite player in pre-tournament odds to win The Masters, at +1100.

Jon Rahm to finish in the Top 10 (+115)

Jon Rahm, the 2023 Masters champion, is making his eighth Masters appearance and has top 10 finishes in five of the past six years at Augusta National. Rahm joined LIV Golf in December for a reported $350 million multiyear deal.

Tigers Woods to finish in the Top 5 (+550)

Tiger Woods has finished in the top 5 twelve times in his 25 appearances at The Masters. Outside from Woods' wins in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2019, Woods finished in the top 5 in 2000, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2013.

Tiger Woods is aiming for his sixth Masters championship and said he believes that if "everything comes together," at Augusta National, then he could win one more green jacket. This will be Woods' 26th appearance at the first major of the year.

Xander Schauffele to make the cut (-1100)

Xander Schauffele has only missed the cut at the Masters once in the last five years which was in 2022.

Xander Schauffele is another pre-tournament favorite to win The Masters in his seventh appearance at Augusta National. Schauffele has top 10 finishes in the last five years at the major including runner-up to Tiger Woods in 2019.

Phil Mickelson to miss the cut (-150)

Phil Mickelson missed the cut three times at The Masters in 1997, 2014, and 2016. Mickelson did not participate in the 2022 Masters after taking a break from golf for a few months.

Phil Mickelson will make his 31st appearance at The Masters. In the final round of 2023 The Masters, Mickelson shot an impressive score of 65 and finished as the runner-up behind Jon Rahm, which is the highest finish ever achieved by a player aged 50 or older at Augusta National.

Lowest Tournament Score by a LIV Golfer: Brooks Koepka (+600)

Brooks Koepka came in second place along with Phil Michelson at the 2023 Masters tournament and this would be his ninth appearance at Augusta National. Koepka has managed to secure top 12 finishes in four of his last six Masters starts. In June 2022, Koepka signed a deal with LIV Golf that was worth more than $100 million.

Scottie Scheffler to win by 2 or More Shots (+550)

Scottie Scheffler is set to play in his fifth Masters tournament. He won the 2022 Masters by three strokes, beating Rory McIlroy out for his first green jacket.

Hideki Matsuyama to finish in the top 30 (-275)

Hideki Matsuyama is making his 13th Masters appearance and won the 2021 Masters to become Japan's first male major champion. Outside of taking the green jacket in 2021, Matsuyama has eight top 20 finishes in the past nine years.

Matt Fitzpatrick to finish in the top 40 (+115)

Matt Fitzpatrick has finished inside the top 15 at Augusta National for the past two years. He's making his 10th appearance at the Masters.
