LSU Tigers flood the LSWA awards list

The Louisiana Sports Writer Association has released its All-Louisiana teams and the winner of the season accolades. LSU has nine on the list and won four out of five major awards.

The only major award LSU didn’t win was Freshman of the Year. That title went to Jacob Mayers from Nicholls State. Mayers had a 9-1 record with a 1.93 ERA and 97 strikeouts.

LSU had four players earn First-Team honors (Paul Skenes, Dylan Crews, Tommy White and Cade Beloso), three earned Second-Team honors (Ty Floyd, Jared Jones and Tre Morgan), and two earned honorable mention (Hayden Travinski and Gavin Dugas).

Crews won Hitter of the Year, Skenes won Pitcher of the Year, White won Newcomer of the Year and Jay Johnson won Coach of the Year.

First Team

  • Pitcher: Paul Skenes

  • Third Baseman: Tommy White

  • Outfielder: Dylan Crews

  • Designated Hitter: Cade Beloso

Second Team

  • Pitcher: Ty Floyd

  • First Baseman: Jared Jones

  • Outfielder: Tre Morgan

Honorable Mention

  • Catcher: Hayden Travinski

  • Second Baseman: Gavin Dugas

Major Awards
