LSU offers 2025 4-star wide receiver from Selma, Alabama
LSU’s recruiting staff made a trip to Alabama to check out one of the top wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class. They will have to fight with Auburn and Alabama if they want to sign him.
Derick Smith is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound, four-star wide receiver from Selma, Alabama, where he plays for Southside-Selma High School. The Southside Panthers finished the 2022 season 6-5 with a loss to Dadeville in the first round of the 3A playoffs.
There are no Crystal Ball projections for Smith at this time but Auburn is a 60% favorite to land him per On3.
Film Analysis: Smith plays all over the field for the Panthers but he projects to be a wide receiver at the next level.
