Caldwell, who led Marshall to the NCAA Tournament this season in her first season as a Division I coach, visited Pat Summitt's statue and was shown on a stroll to Tennessee's arena and facilities. She even met a few returning players.

Caldwell is an outside-the-box hire for the Lady Vols, although she has a tremendous track record despite her limited experience. She won the 2022 National Championship at Division II Glenville State, where she finished with a 191-24 record in seven seasons.

Caldwell then led the Thundering Herd to a 26-7 record in 2023-24, her first season at Division I, and to their first NCAA Tournament berth since 1997.
