Locally... Junior Bishops Soccer Camp nearing

Junior Bishops Soccer Camp to be in July

The Jr. Bishops Soccer Camp will be July 24-26 and run from 5:30-7 p.m. each day at the fields behind Rosecrans High School. Camp is for players entering K thru 8th grade.

Cost is $40 per camper and a camp shirt is included. Current coaches, players and alumni will conduct the camp.

Golf League Results

At Zanesville Country Club, The Flag Tournament was held on July 4, and the format is an Individual NET Tournament where you add handicap + par = FLAG SCORE, and the Farthest Flag on the course wins.

In the Blue Tee Division, Kevin Jones came in first followed by Cortney Clewell, Gavin Mawhorr and Dan Bogle; the Blue-White Tee Division winner was Bill Schimmel with Rick Campbell second and Ryan Dodson third; White Tee Division saw Mike Knuchel take first followed by Jim Cavezza and Bob Kessler; and Green Tee Division was won by Vicky French followed by Othello Repuyan and Scott Obenour.

The Charlie Goelz League played a Foursome – 2 best balls - net game. The winners at 10-under were Steve Baldwin, Tom Diehl, Lucas Graham and Steve Smith. Doug Waltman, Brian Addis, Scott Webb and John Schowinsky took second on a scorecard playoff after shooting 8-under, and third, also at 8-under, was the team of Doug Myers, Jason Rosser, Joe Neff and Jim Gasparine. Baldwin made the longest putt on No. 2 (21-feet-1), and Steve Smith was closest to the pin on No. 8 (8-3).

At Green Valley, Debbi Bollinger shot 40 for low gross and Cindy Snider posted low net of 28 in the Edward Jones/Scott Barr Ladies League. Mollye Beale had a chip-in on No. 2, and the weekly game winners for most putts were Mary Jane Barkley, Leslie Colopy and Bonnie Shawger. Winning teams were 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11.

The Wednesday Night Green Valley Parettes had Mary Burkhart with low gross of 36 and Nancy Ragais with low net of 24. Winning teams were 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 13, and 14.

At Fuller's Fairways, Gerald Corns and Jay Smith fired 34 for low gross while 6 players tied at 32 for low net in the GEYER FAMILY INSURANCE Wednesday League. Team results: CCU Mining (3), Carlwick Stop & Shop (2); Big Johnsons (4), 3 Bald Guys & Bob (1); Geyer Family Insurance (2.5), Jarretts (2.5); Farus Funeral Home (3.5), Mayhem (1.5); Goss Supply (4), J & S Maintenance (1); Flecto (4), Fulmer Insurance (1).
